The latest OUGS handicap list is now available on the Society website.

As members will know, our final event of 2025 was cancelled. Our first event of 2026 was played as a scramble, rather than an individual competition, so no new individual cards were submitted at that event.

Because of this, there have been no Society competition cards added since the previous update. However, we are aware that a small number of members may have had changes to their WHS Index, and in some cases that index may now be lower than their current OUGS handicap.

OUGS Handicap and WHS Index

As an OUGS member, you have an OUGS handicap that is used to ensure fair competition across the Society.

If your WHS Index is now lower than your current OUGS handicap, you are obliged to let us know. Your OUGS handicap can then be reviewed and adjusted at the next Society event.

It remains each member’s responsibility to make sure they are playing off the correct handicap.

Playing before the next Society event

If you are playing a Greensomes match before our next Society event, and you know that your WHS Index has changed, please make sure you check your updated index against the handicap requirements for the venue and apply the correct calculation.

If you are unsure, please contact Brian, Jim or Jill before playing.
